New for 2023
The Bronco reemerged in 2021, emerging as a brand-new model about thirty years after Ford last offered a Bronco version. The 2022 model year added two new trims and a manual transmission option. For 2023, Ford has added two new trims that use the same features as other trims but are styled like the 1960s versions of the Bronco.
Performance
The Bronco has three different engine options. The base engine is a turbo V4 that gets 300 horsepower. There is an upgrade for a larger twin-turbo V6 with 330 horsepower and another twin-turbo V6 for the top option that reaches 418 horsepower. Both V6 choices are great and offer a real feeling of power. The base engine is fine but lacks the topside kick of the bigger choices. Moreover, they all have a great automatic transmission and sleek handling that makes them responsive and clean on the road, so none of them feel like a bad choice for Scott and Jennings drivers.
Technology
The Bronco has an eight-inch touchscreen to manage all the tech and infotainment features, which can be upgraded to a 12-inch screen. The base tech features include Apple Car Play and Android Auto software and the wireless versions to boot. Bluetooth and USB ports are also included, so there are many ways to connect devices. Many optional features include navigation, more USB ports, a 120-volt power outlet, and an expanded digital instrument cluster.
Trims
The Bronco comes in two body styles, a two-door model that seats four and a four-door model that seats five. On top of that, there are ten trims, plus options and packages, which include engine upgrades. That all adds up to a lot of choices. The base model and the second trim, the Big Bend, are very good choices because they offer a lot of value for money. The Big Bend is especially attractive because it gives you almost all of the features, either standard or as options. The top trim is called the Raptor, which is notable because it is the only one with the largest engine. As you go up the trim list, the Bronco gets more comfort, tech features, and advanced offroad features like an upgraded winch, more powerful shock absorbers, better brakes and suspension, and more durable skid plates. That provides a wide incentive to consider higher trims.
