The new F-150 may be purchased with a hybrid powertrain. The new 400-horsepower hybrid powertrain features a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, a 35-kW electric motor, and a 10-speed automatic transmission, and it can go up to 700 miles on a single tank of gas. It can also run a generator to keep the power on the construction site or during a blackout. The F-150 will be offered a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive for every powertrain configuration.
The turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 can get up to 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway are possible with the 3.5-liter V6 turbocharged engine. A combined city/highway rating of 25/26 mpg is expected from the hybrid model.
